The “Calli” is short for “Calligraphy” as we apply techniques similar to doing calligraphy on paper. Doing so is not as simple as it seems. As drawing on a small surface with an awkward denim texture requires tons of trial and error in mixing solutions with colors to get the perfect stroke and present a calligraphy-like drawing.

The process started with Peter Gunny (Founder of Gunnystraps) mixing and trying different solutions to get the perfect balance of the paint solution that would give a perfect stroke when applied to the Denim Strap. Then he tried it on a blank canvas and afterward, he tried it on a dummy denim strap. After making sure that it was up to Gunnystraps’ standard, He thought the artist team was keeping an eye on the consistency.

Only after tons of effort and lots of time spent focusing on the ‘Calligraphy’, we are finally confident with the product that would be the perfect match for your streetwear fashion, especially felt from the sportiness of the denim and the ‘street-ness’ of the ‘mural’ on the surface.
