Gunny Straps – In 2009, a collector brought a 60-year-old Panerai strap to Peter Gunny, founder of Gunny Straps.
The piece was incomplete and is missing its short side of the strap. The client asked if Peter could recreate the missing half so it could be worn again.
For weeks, Peter experimented with leather cuts, colors, and layers until he found the perfect balance between authenticity and strength. Using fresh leather and multi-layer hand-aging, he managed to reproduce the missing side so precisely that it looked like it had aged for decades.
That success became a turning point.
The result was the Mission Impossible Series, a strap that carried the spirit of time-worn leather but was newly made for comfort and longevity. Its thick build, open-loop construction, and three-fold leather design made it ideal for big watches like Panerai. It was the first “impossible” mission Peter made possible.
The Mission Possible line was born as a response to the legendary Mission Impossible Strap, a collection that defined Gunny’s craftsmanship spirit in its purest form.
From Mission Impossible to Mission Possible

Over the years, the watch world evolved. Collectors began favoring slimmer, dressier pieces. While the Mission Impossible straps remained iconic, their proportions were no longer suitable for smaller watches.
Peter started receiving more requests from customers who loved the vintage look but wanted something more refined and easier to wear daily. Listening to those voices, he reimagined the entire structure. The outcome was the Mission Possible Series, a redesign that preserved the DNA of the original while adapting it for modern elegance.
Each strap was made thinner, softer, and more ergonomic but still hand-aged through the same meticulous process that made the MI line legendary.
The Anatomy of a Mission Possible Strap
Peter rebuilt every detail from the ground up. Mission Possible is not a simpler version of Mission Impossible; it is a technical evolution, handcrafted with precision for comfort and proportion.

The Art of Making It Possible
Each Mission Possible strap undergoes up to 24 layers of coloring alone, where some straps require days to create a rich depth which is applied and aged by hand. The process takes times and demands the same patience that shaped the first Mission Impossible more than a decade ago.
Peter Gunny’s philosophy remains unchanged: every strap must tell a story, not just serve a function. For him, craftsmanship is not about producing volume but creating something that feels personal, warm, and alive on the wrist.
Mission Possible is his way of proving that vintage design can evolve without losing its soul, a collection that bridges eras, bringing the artistry of the past into the precision of the present.
Both collections now coexist under the MI & MP Series, each representing a different era and philosophy in handcrafted strap making.
